{"id":582,"date":"2012-07-31T13:05:01","date_gmt":"2012-07-31T11:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/borkedcode.com\/wp\/?p=582"},"modified":"2012-07-31T13:05:01","modified_gmt":"2012-07-31T11:05:01","slug":"salmon-glaze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/2012\/07\/31\/salmon-glaze\/","title":{"rendered":"Salmon Glaze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My wife loves this, and she just had me print it up for her mom, so I figured I might as well share:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Salmon Glaze (use with .75-1.25 kg salmon filet)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a 150ml cup, put in:<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon of ground or crushed black pepper<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 teaspoon\u00a0 fine-ground salt<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons dried garlic powder<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons onion powder or onion flakes<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon butter<\/p>\n<p>Juice from 1\/2 medium lemon (include any pulp if you like)<\/p>\n<p>3 tablespoons honey (more won&#8217;t hurt, so let them be overloaded if you like)<\/p>\n<p>fill to the top with water<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Microwave the mix on high for 30 sec or until it starts to boil.\u00a0 Remove from microwave and stir to mix thoroughly<\/p>\n<p>On a small baking pan, spread a smooth sheet of tin foil.\u00a0 Grease with olive oil or butter.<\/p>\n<p>Rinse off the salmon filet, and lay it skin-side down on the greased foil.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon the first 1\/3 of the mix onto the salmon, trying to ensure that all the exposed meat receives at least a little of the liquid.\u00a0 The solids in the mix should also end up on the salmon.<\/p>\n<p>Bake at 180 C for 10-15 minutes, or until the mix that has gathered in the pan has begun to bubble happily.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon another 1\/3 of the mix onto the salmon, same as the first time.\u00a0 Return the salmon to the oven.<\/p>\n<p>Bake another 10-15 minutes, or again until the mix is bubbling well.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon on the last 1\/3, return salmon to oven until mix is again bubbling.<\/p>\n<p>As the baking goes on, the mix will reduce and get darker.\u00a0 Using a spoon, take up the mix from the pan and re-apply to the fish occasionally, until the mix becomes a medium brown color.\u00a0 At this point the fish should be cooked all the way through and should be ready to serve.<\/p>\n<p>Cut fish into serving sizes and place on plate, taking one final spoonful of the brown mix from the pan and pouring it across the serving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My wife loves this, and she just had me print it up for her mom, so I figured I might as well share: Salmon Glaze (use with .75-1.25 kg salmon filet) In a 150ml cup, put in: 1 teaspoon of &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/2012\/07\/31\/salmon-glaze\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-582","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cooking"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/582","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=582"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/582\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=582"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=582"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.borkedcode.com\/wp2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=582"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
